Assume you want to move into a new apartment with the floor plan at the bottom of this page. In this project, you’ll answer questions and issues about moving in.
- Find the area of the floor in each main room in square feet AND square yards.

- Dining room (assume it’s 10’7″ x 8’3″)
- Find the total area of the apartment in square feet only.
- Assume the apartment is 17 ft by 35 ft

- Draw a sketch of your furniture within the bedroom diagram, showing the measurements of each item.
- Be sure everything fits, you still have walking space, and no doors are blocked.
- Option 1 – use your current furniture
- Measure all the furniture in your current bedroom that you’d like to move to your new apartment.
- Show a picture or drawing of each item with the measurements.
- You can take an actual picture of each item of your real furniture, or find an image online of a similar item.
- Here’s an example of what you should show for each item (picture AND measurements):

- Research apartments in this area (Anaheim, Fullerton, Placentia, etc.)
- Find 3 examples of one-bedroom apartments in this area, of approximately the same square footage as the one in this project
- Recommend doing a Google search on “Apartments for rent in Anaheim,” etc.
- For each of the 3 apartments, include this information:
- Street address
- Area in square feet
- Monthly rent amount
- Amenities and features
- Anything special about that apartment that appeals to you

- Which apartment would you choose, and why?
- Find 3 examples of one-bedroom apartments in this area, of approximately the same square footage as the one in this project
