You are to write your 300-500 word Common Assignment Summary and Response Essay Rough Draft. Remember, a summary and response essay requires you to choose a topic, examine a source for that topic, and write. You will need at least 3 paragraphs, but more is better. The first paragraph of your paper should introduce the topic as well as summarize the article/topic. Make sure to tell the article and the author. The final half of your paper should include your response to the topic and source. What do you think? Please make sure to avoid the use of the 1st person in a formal paper like this one. For example, instead of typing “I believe guns should be outlawed,” type “Guns should be outlawed.” You may type “People should outlaw guns.” Whatever you decide, avoid the use of “I,” “me,” or “my.” Finally, you should have a conclusion paragraph to close your paper.
Remember to use MLA format with this paper. Use Times New Roman size 12 as the font. Your pages should have your last name and the page numbers in the upper right corners of the pages. Your first page should have a heading. It should include the following: your name, the instructor’s name, the course name, and the date. You should have a centered title on your first page. The last page of your paper should be the works cited page. “Works Cited” should be centered at the top of the page. Watch the videos I provided for how to do a works cited page. Remember, you should have already done your works cited page with your source for your topic. You only had to have that 1 source. You should be able to copy and paste that works cited page from that assignment into this assignment (your common assignment summary and response essay).
