In class we discussed the rational choice and symbolic politics models of political behavior. I would like for you to 1) to describe the main arguments of these theories and their underlying assumptions, 2) use these two theories to explain why individuals might support certain politicians and political positions and/or policies, and 3) discuss which theory you think offers the most accurate description of the real world and why that is the case. You may choose any issue or political leader you like.
